Founder and President of Juel’s of Rome Co-Founder of Artist Connext Julieanne "JUEL" Salazar

Julieanne “Juel” Salazar is a dynamic force in the music and entertainment industry, drawing inspiration from a rich family legacy steeped in musical heritage. As a descendant of the renowned Cono family and the grandniece of legendary Latin jazz pianist Eddie Cano, Juel's passion for music has been intrinsic to her identity since childhood. Family gatherings were vibrant celebrations filled with live music, with her mother as a lead singer, nurturing Juel's early love for performance.

At just five years old, Juel began her musical journey, sharing piano sessions with her father on their cherished ebony upright piano. By nine, she captivated audiences in her first piano recital, and by thirteen, she was a professional jazz dancer and featured singer in her parents' Top 40/Jazz band. This early exposure to the performing arts laid the foundation for her multifaceted career.

By sixteen, Juel formed her own band and embarked on a successful modeling career, which included runway appearances for department stores. Although she received an elite magazine contract in Europe at seventeen, she chose to prioritize family, raising her son while continuing to engage with the entertainment industry through modeling and collaborations with emerging artists.

In her late twenties, Juel revitalized her professional goals in the music and entertainment realm, building a robust network that aligned with the evolving industry landscape. Recognizing the growing opportunities for indie and underground artists, she launched Juel’s of Rome in 2008, a platform dedicated to empowering talent.

Juel has collaborated with numerous industry executives and brands, including Music Changing Lives, Rated Next Radio, and Bravestone Records, among others. Her extensive experience has allowed her to play a pivotal role in the development and success of various artists and brands, and she expresses immense gratitude for the journeys she’s been part of.

In 2018, Juel co-founded Artist Connext with affiliate partner Mia “Mia J” Jefferson, creating a comprehensive network that provides essential services for indie artists, producers, bands, and media companies. With over fifteen years of experience in booking, global radio networks, and music media marketing, Juel developed a strategic framework to help emerging talents achieve their goals.

In August 2021, Juel published her book, *The Secret Sauce: Your Engine to Success in the Music Business*, a tribute to her mother on the first anniversary of her passing. Through Juel’s of Rome and Artist Connext, Juel and her team assist brands of all sizes in navigating the complexities of PR, management, branding, and marketing, aiming to cultivate their internal teams and elevate their visibility.

The name “Juel’s of Rome” reflects Juel’s academic background in stage and set design and her passion for Western European architecture, particularly the Roman Empire. Juel views her clients as the "Jewels" of her artistic empire, each contributing to a vibrant community of talent.

With an unwavering commitment to nurturing talent and fostering creativity, Julieanne “Juel” Salazar continues to be a guiding light in the music and entertainment industry, dedicated to empowering the next generation of artists. Written By @GivinDaBizness w/@darealceozay
