Seeking Justice: The Story of Xavier Anthony Adams Jr.

My name is Xavier Anthony Adams Jr., inmate #1133623 at Macon State Prison in Oglethorpe, Georgia. I was wrongfully sentenced and convicted of manslaughter in Clayton County Superior Court under Judge Shana Rooks Malone. This is my story, and I hope it sheds light on the negligence and injustice I have faced.

On September 5th, my day started well, but it took a tragic turn by evening. After attending my daughter's PTA meeting, I returned home to find one of my security guards, who was renting a room in my house, arriving with only a portion of his rent. This led to a heated argument that escalated into a physical altercation in the backyard of my apartment. We both returned inside, still angry, and I went to my room to grab my gun. However, he had already retrieved a gun from a book bag belonging to my ex-wife. He pointed the gun at me, cocked it, and tried to shoot. The gun jammed, and we struggled over it. In the chaos, I managed to take the gun and shot him as he attempted to reach another weapon in the bedroom.

When I realized he was hit, I snapped out of my blackout state, reminiscent of the night I was robbed and shot in the head in 2013. He collapsed in my arms and died. My ex-wife ran outside to give the gun to his girlfriend, who was waiting in the car. The gun, which belonged to his girlfriend, was never tested by the Clayton County GBI. False testimony was given, and I was not notified of the recidivist request despite having no violent offenses in the past 14 years. I am appealing this wrongful sentence and conviction, accepting full responsibility for my actions, and asking for the family's forgiveness. It was a fight-or-flight situation, and I had no option but to defend myself.

For the past year and a half, I have been under duress, attacked by members of the Branch Hate Committee, and placed on compound restrictions at various level 5 prisons. I spent months in solitary confinement without reason, only wanting to appeal my inhumane life sentence without parole. On October 27th, 2024, I was attacked by four unknown inmates while sleeping. I was beaten, stabbed, and airlifted to Lavient Healthcare in Madison, Georgia. Upon my return to prison, I was placed in segregation without any investigation into the attack.

Recently, another inmate, Henry Finley, was killed by the Hate Committee at Macon State Prison. These attacks are orchestrated by a state board member, currently held at Hancock State Prison. He abuses his position of authority from behind prison doors, violating several laws and policies.

I am seeking advocacy and awareness for my cause. I should not have received a life sentence without parole for defending myself. I pray that someone will help shed light on this negligence and injustice.
